    Music Vantastival 2014

What a great weekend it was.

Vantastival is always a bit wet .. start of May .. not really summer yet .. but what a cracker of a weekend.

It was mostly dry. On the outside that is.

A few pictures from the festival:

Ulick brought a little cracker of a campervan, that actually attracted more attention than my LT or the big Bedford military truck, that was on the site.

A Daihatsu Hijet Poptop camper. Professionally converted in the UK, originally build for 1 person. It accommodates 2 people .. but they'd better be a loving couple. That's for sure. Driven by a just under 1000cc 3-cylinder engine, this K-spec van certainly was the smallest campervan around.

So small, that even little 15 month old Ruby can drive it

100,000 miles was archieved on the arrival at Vantastival. Now, that's certainly a landmark ... or a landmile record ?

And Happy has turned to the dark side. Instead of arriving in his own creations, he arrived in a Westfalia, factory build, camper. On how many levels would that be considered wrong ?

Anyhow .. camp set up and as the flag says: "Shit happens".

    A few interesting bits.

A Vivaro, that has been chopped up, converted into a trailer and functions as additional bedroom for 2. 2 mattresses in the back and a couple of sleeping bags and anybody would be happy out.

This old Bedford truck definatly grabbed my attention.

And the old 1950 Pontiac with equally individual caravan was also back.

What is left to mention, is that Looey's wife Anita won the Cully and Sculley Cook off competition ... completely unprepared .. with Kelly and Shauna in the Daihatsu only .5 of a point behind them. And beyond that, we had a cracking weekend.

    Hi Marlow,
I would agree with a cracking weekend.Lovely atmosphere and some great music and people.
At one point i went looking to introduce myself but when i saw the impenitrible circle of vans i thought not !
Your crew were like the old west with circled wagons holding out the indians.
At one stage i heard you coming back on site in the orange wagon and i thought it was a plane taking off(some nice noise)

Will make a point of catching you again.
(Thanks for catching a pic of my van,Transit camper)https://flic.kr/p/nvzykN

Hello Marlow, didn't realise I'd actually know someone on the forum.
Hope the LT is going well.
