When you go through Belfast and follow the coastroad up the M5, you'll soon come to Newtownabbey.
It's a very scenic drive up the motorway, as it follow the coast and the view is amazing. You might even see the ships coming into Belfast.
The campsite itself is unattended, fenced in with an automatic gate. It's adjactant to a car-park with automatic barriers, that close during nighttime.
Booking is done via: https://newtownabbey.campstead.com/CheckAvailability.asp and it costs between 19 GBP and 21 GBP depending on dates.
When you book, you'll receive a PIN code via SMS and a booking confirmation via eMail. About 15 minutes after your booking, the pin code will work at the barrier and the gate into the camp site.
All camper bay have a tarmac area and some grass area. The place is kept tidy and very well layed out. The camp is direcly at the shore with a playground nearby. It has shower facilities and electric hookup (included in the day rate) for every camper bay. Belfast is near, so it's the perfect spot for a weekend in Belfast, if you prefer to camp instead of going into a B&B or hotel.
The view, when you wake up in the morning and get out of the camper is amazing. It can't be put any other way. The sun is going up over the shore and everything is covered in a little bit mist.
I've used the camp a few times and can only recommend it.
